Baking Project

52WinningRecipes

In 2014, I created a baking project for myself – to make all of the Pillsbury Bake-Off Grand Prize Winning Recipes in one year. 52 in 52 weeks, plus the 2014 winner. (The contest started in 1949.)  And I did it! Mission accomplished. Woo Hoo! Here are all of the posts with step-by-step photo instructions of each recipe. Click here for a slideshow.

I just got rid of my mother’s collection of Bake-Off cookbooks and this took me down memory lane again. Her books were dog eared and food splattered and I remember her trying out recipes when the new books came out one year. I remember being impressed by the cookies that looked like turtles. The worst was something called “Shanghai Casserole” made with canned chow mien and a biscuit top! I still make two, one is the chocolate cherry bars you like and the other was a chocolate/date/orange bar called Chocolate Refreshers.
