Classic Christmas Spritz Cookies Recipe

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside
  • In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk and extracts. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until dough is smooth.
  • Divide dough and color, if desired. Fill barrel with dough and fit with desired discs. Press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet. Add sprinkles, if desired.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack and cool completely. Makes 8-9 dozen cookies.

Notes

How do I store them? Once your cookies have cooled, arrange them gently in layers within the airtight container, placing a sheet of parchment paper between each layer to prevent sticking. 
What if I don't have a cookie press? If you don't have a cookie press, you can roll out the dough and use cookie cutters.
