Did you know that Mardis Gras is Fat Tuesday in French? As for the colors: purple stands for justice, green for faith, and gold for power. If you need something quick and easy to make for Mardis Gras try this colorful cookie recipe.
Prepare cookies according to package instructions. Let cool.
Frost cookies, then add sprinkles. I added the yellow in the middle first. It's easier if you put the sprinkles in a bowl, then use your fingers to add the sprinkles in straight lines. You have more control using your fingers instead of shaking it right out of the bottle.
Notes
How do I store these? Store in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag for up to 3 days at room temp or in the refrigerator for a week. I recommend keeping them at room temperature because that's when they taste the best. Another way of storing them is wrapping the cookies in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Can I make the cookies homemade? Yes! You can use a cookie mix to make or if you want to make them from scratch you can use my mask cookies recipe: Mardi Gras Mask Sugar Cookies.
