Frosted Lemonade Smoothie is like a lemonade float. It tastes like a dessert, but has lots of low calorie protein and is perfect for an after work-out pick me up!
As you know, I'm a big fan of sweets, but I'm also a big fan of staying healthy and keeping a balanced diet. I've also been trying to lose a few pounds this summer. Having plenty of lowfat protein in my diet helps me stay full and it also helps me build muscle which apparently I'm losing more and more of at my age. Speaking of age, did I tell you I'll be entering a new decade soon! That's right, it's the big 5-0! Yikes! Did I just say that out loud? (SHHHH... don't tell.)
Luckily, my birthday isn't until December, so for now I'm definitely in my 40's! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Ha!
So like I said, building muscle is important at my age and it actually helps me burn more calories too. I learned that interesting tidbit recently and it's given me an extra incentive to hit the weights at the gym.
I love using protein powder to increase my daily protein intake. EAS has a great line of protein powders. I used one EAS Lean 15 Single Serve Packet of Vanilla Cream Protein Powder to make this Frosted Lemonade Smoothie that's not only delicious and low calorie but also packed with protein!
EAS Protein Powders were easy to find at Target in the Pharmacy department! I used vanilla protein powder for this recipe, but it also comes in chocolate.
Making this smoothie is super easy! Simply pour 1 cup of sugar free lemonade into a blender. Add ½ cup of vanilla lowfat frozen yogurt, then pour in one packet of EAS Lean 15 Vanilla Cream Protein Powder. Add 1 cup of ice and a few drops of lemon coloring (if desired). Put the lid on and blend until smooth. Garnish with fresh lemon. Easy peazy!
I used EAS Lean 15 Vanilla Cream Protein Powder which has 15 grams of protein per serving, but you could also use EAS Vanilla 100% Whey Protein Powder if you wanted to and it has 26 grams of protein which is awesome!
This creamy and smooth Frosted Lemonade Smoothie is just so sweet and yummy, it's hard to believe it's low calorie and actually good for you. It's just so good!!
