How to Make Scary Good Halloween Donuts is a recipe blog post with instructions for Spider Web Donuts, Eyeball Donuts and Spider Donuts!
I'm planning ahead this year and posting a Halloween recipe in September! I thought you might like to start getting ideas for your Halloween party. You're welcome.
I also wanted to show my friend, Amy Lyle, who is not a baker that she could make them. We made three kinds of Halloween Donuts for this post and they are all very easy. One of them uses a store bought donut, so even the kids can help out.
The first ones are these cute Spider Web Donuts. We started with a chocolate cake mix donut, dipped them in melted chocolate and then piped a web with melted white candy melts. Easy peazy!
Don't you love these scary Eyeball Donuts?! We also used a cake mix to make the donut itself (these are made with a funfetti gluten free mix), then dipped them in melted white candy melts. We tried two different methods for the veins (mostly because Amy was a bit over zealous with the tube of red frosting and used it up after two donuts, LOL). You could either use store bought red frosting or melted red candy melts. I sort of liked how the red frosting looked clear and shiny (extra spooky).
The iris is made with a Gummy Life Saver candy and the pupil is a chocolate chip.
Here is the donut pan we used to make these cake mix donuts (affiliate):
And finally, Amy and I used store bought mini donuts to make these adorable little Spider Donuts! We dipped them in melted candy melts, added candy eye balls and pretzel sticks for the legs. Amy made the orange ones. Aren't they cute!
These Spider Donuts are perfect for the kids to make. And they will have fun with it too!
Eye see you! Do you like my eyeballs? Haha!
I hope you will try these cute Halloween Donuts! Let me know which is your favorite in the comments below and also, what are you going to be for Halloween?

Hello, this recipe calls for a cake mix, so the directions say to use the package directions since oven temperatures may vary according to the brand or type of cake mix that you use. Thank you.
